LeRoy “Buddy” Gass was called Home to be with Our Lord and Savior October 10, 2018. He was born May 7, 1932 to the late W.G. and Rose Gass.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children Steven Miller Gass and wife Karolyn of Lubbock, Paige Lauren Head and husband Zach of California. Grandchildren Bentley, Conner and Jayde Avery Head, siblings; Bland Seale, Shirley Clark, Joyle Gass, Charles Gass, Jerry Gass, Don Gass, Jacky Gass, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Gordan Gass, James Henry Gass, and Ronny Gass.
Buddy grew up on a farm east of O’Donnell where he was a star athlete in High School playing football and running track; in his retirement he enjoyed playing golf. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Korean War. One major accomplishment of Buddy’s was he built the first and only proto type of the moon buggy, which still sets on display at Houston Space Center. Buddy was a wonderful man, father, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
A memorial service will be held 3pm Wednesday October 17, 2018 at the Wolfforth United Methodist Church.
