Janyce L. Causey, age 78, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Tuesday, August 6, 2019 after battling a lengthy illness.
Janyce was born in Vernon, TX an only child to Robert (Bob) and Gladys Piggott who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband Johnny Causey.
Her survivors include daughters DeDe (Causey) Burke, Cheron (Causey) Thompson, sons-in-law John Burke and Mike Thompson; grandchildren, Kyle Burke, Adam Burke, Taylor (Thompson) Ibison, Cody Thompson, their spouses Kayla Burke, Baylie Burke, and Jared Ibison; and one great-granddaughter, Mila Burke.
After growing up in Eunice, New Mexico, Janyce married and was a devoted mom and grandmother. She resided in Hobbs fifty-seven years and was a long –time member of First Baptist and more recently a member of Bethel Baptist. During her long time residency of Hobbs, she worked for The Electric Company, for Norte Vista Medical Center, for the Hobbs Chamber of Commerce, and finally for American Medical Group. She loved being creative and artistic, and had an eye for decorating; she loved arranging flowers for weddings and décor. She made her final flower arrangements for her precious granddaughter’s recent wedding. She was Momma, Grammy, Bendy, and Great-Grammy to her family and a devoted and endearing friend, and she leaves a hole in our hearts, but she is in a better place in the arms of Jesus.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at 10:30 A.M. at Bethel Baptist Church in Hobbs, NM with Pastor Jimmy Crawford officiating. The family will greet friends and loved ones from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M in the fellowship hall at Bethel Baptist after the memorial service. In lieu of flowers or plants, our family suggests donations be made to the ALSAC- St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, MD Anderson (Houston, TX), the Mayo Clinic, the American Cancer Society, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, or the American Lung Association (National Office).
Our family would like to extend our gratitude to all the nursing staff, doctors, and fellows at UMC for your care and devoted attentiveness.
